A day spent bouncing between manuscripts, ending with a pair of short stories: Robert M. Price’s “Wilbur Whateley Waiting” and Robert W. Chambers’s “The Harbor-Master.” And now? Pizza, the Giants vs. Diamondbacks on TV, and a Lost Continent Double IPA…

Lost Continent Double IPA pours a deep, translucent orange-brown, with a high, bonewhite head that laces the glass with cavern mouths and ancient etchings. Stone fruit on the nose: peach and apricot. Sweet malt and bitter hops in the tongue. Tropical fruit on swallow–pineapple. Roiling carbonation, percolating bitter fireworks. Dry finish with lingering uvula-tingling bitter. Aggressively pleasant.
